UPDATE ON THE CURRENT TREATMENT OF DIABETES AND ITS COMPLICATIONS

Dear Colleague,
The EASD Postgraduate Course will be held in Polat Renaissance Hotel in Istanbul from Sept. 21st-23rd, 2017. The aim of the Course is to share the latest clinical information on diabetes and its
complications with young physicians in the field of diabetes, in line with the mission of EASD promoting excellence in diabetes care and education.
This Postgraduate Course will also be an excellent opportunity for intensive and interactive discussions of young, clinically oriented physicians with prominent experts in different fields of diabetology.
The scientific programme consists of Sessions and Workshops – each participant will be able to attend 4 workshops, with each one lasting one-hour. Details of the scientific program will be available at www.easd.org and www.turkdiab.org soon.
The registration for the EASD Postgraduate Course and the 2-nights accommodation of the participants are free of charge. The registration of the participants will be done on first come-first served basis. Travel to and from Istanbul should be covered by the participants, however, a limited number of EASD travel grants will be available. A Certificate of Attendance will be given at the end of the Course.

We are pleased to announce and invite you to attend The 6th World Congress on Controversies to Consensus in Diabetes, Obesity and Hypertension (CODHy) to be held in Tel Aviv, Israel, February 21-23, 2018.
Over the years, our CODHy congress has provided an exclusive platform for excellent academic debates, providing a forum for international experts in the field of Diabetes, Obesity and Hypertension to discuss and compare data. This unique congress format provides excellent exposure to unresolved issues and facilitates active participation which leads to helpful everyday tools for the participating clinicians.
As one of the world leaders in technology and innovation, by holding CODHy in Israel, the ‘Start-up’ nation, we are continuing our focus on the ‘Digital Health’ initiative showcased at our 4th CODHy China meeting in May 2017. We will once again explore digital health within the treatment of Diabetes, Obesity and Hypertension to pave the way for future innovations in the field and continue our fruitful collaboration with China. CODHy will serve as a platform for Digital Companies in the field to present, promote and expand their business opportunities with other companies’ partners and organizations.
The Scientific Program will include overviews, state of the art lectures and controversial debates. Outstanding world leaders as faculty will present both pro and con positions while further challenging and exploring the optimal treatment for patients, with emphasis on the appropriate use of new and emerging drugs and technologies. This format includes a substantial allocation of time for interactive debates and questions from the audience to each panel of experts. 8th EFAD-DIETS Conference, 9-12 Οκτωβρίου 2014 (Ξενοδ. Divani Caravel).
The European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) will be hosting its annual conference in Athens, Greece this year on 9-12 October 2014, and in collaboration with the Hellenic Dietetic Association (HDA).
The 8th EFAD-DIETS Conference will have the following theme: “Health 2020: Supporting Vulnerable Groups”.
The current levels and predicted increase in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Europe are associated with increased costs and present a major challenge to healthcare professionals across Europe, whose rapid and effective response is now requested more than ever. The 8th EFAD-DIETS Conference will explore the dietitian’s role in the treatment and prevention of NCDs, and will facilitate meetings of the European Specialist Networks for diabetes, obesity, oncology, ageing, public health and food service. What’s more, the Student Program will give students the space to network, discuss working-abroad opportunities and explore collaborative research projects.
EFAD is the only organization promoting dietetics at the European level, representing some 30,000 dietitians across Europe, while also having a role in the education and lifelong learning of dietitians in partnership with Higher Education. Following the success of the previous DIETS conferences, EFAD continues to support the network and partnership work of National Dietetic Associations, Departments of Nutrition & Dietetics in Higher Education and NGOs across 31 European countries.
The EFAD committees for Professional Practice, Education and Research will host workshops and make presentations on progression of their work in the fields of ethics, standardized language, nutrition care process, lifelong learning and evidence-based practice. The proceedings and abstracts for the posters presented will be proactively promoted to all 30,000 dietitians in the Network as well as NGOs, HEIs and agencies in individual Nation States by Dietetic Associations.
